When I moved to Cape Town in 2024, I found it a tough place to meet people. But food is so often at the centre of making friends. It’s all about connection – built on flavour, curiosity, culture and community. And the curiosity in a traveller is often the same curiosity you find in a foodie.

Since then, I’ve been interviewing some of the city’s top chefs and restaurants on my Instagram, @adventuresworthchasing. Now I’m launching Eats and Meets: a chance to discover great restaurants, meet new people from the city and hear from the chefs themselves.

Each month we’ll pick a different restaurant, from budget-friendly to more high-end, and we’ll all sit together at shared tables. To keep things mixing, we’ll move people around between courses, so you’ll get to chat with a few different faces over the evening.

The restaurant will only be announced 24 hours before the event – but don’t worry, you won’t need to travel too far.

All you need is a good attitude, a friendly, welcoming nature and the adventurous spirit to get stuck in.
